1st Annual Venus de Miles Bike Ride in Longmont

The rain vanished and the weather turned out nice for the 1st annual "ego-less" womens-only Venus De Miles bike ride, originating and ending in Prospect.

No doubt, Prospect is the cycling center of Longmont for the month of August, given last week's crit.

I'm sure the organizers and riders were wondering yesterday about the potentially dreary and waterlogged condition for the ride, given that more rain was being called for today. Luckily, it was blue skies, at least down here.

There were two routes: one through Niwot and another up to Jamestown and back.





Congratulations to all participants! The announcer said that they'll be back next year to do this event again.
