Thanks to our emergency crews and volunteers

Two people collapsed at today's Memorial Day observance in Longmont, almost within minutes of each other. One was a spectator (a likely veteran) and the other was a member of the honor guard. It was cool and mostly overcast during the ceremony and didn't appear that the incidents were weather-related.

I was impressed at the immediate volunteer support offering CPR and medical assistance and how fast the paramedics and fire department were on site with their ambulances. Less than five minutes for that. To those that assisted while waiting for the paramedics, a big thank you for your expertise and comforting care. We're lucky to be in this community with a combined response like that!

And to the two gentlemen who were taken to the hospital, I wish you a speedy recovery.
